TRK: Owls Lead Combined Events on Day One at Joe Walker Invitational

Oxford, Miss. – Six members of the Kennesaw State men's and women's track teams opened the outdoor season competing in the first day of the decathlon and heptathlon at the Joe Walker Invitational at the Ole Miss Track and Field Complex.
   
Combined Events
Men's Decathlon (Through five events)
  • Joshua Mulder leads the decathlon through five events after scoring 3750 points on day one of the event.
  • He won the high jump after clearing 1.90m (6'2.75) and the 400m with a time of 49.67 seconds.
  • The redshirt senior had four top-eight program marks in the decathlon in the event Friday afternoon.
  • His best performance of the day came in the 400m where he ran the second-fastest time in decathlon program history of 49.67 seconds.
  • Freshman Paris Williams sits in second place overall with 3673 points.
  • He won the 100m with a time of 11.10 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 7.90m (23'3.75).  

    Women's Heptathlon (Through four events)
  • Jordan Gray is in first overall with 3327 points after day one of the heptathlon.
  • Gray collected three wins and a second place finish in four events.
  • She won the high jump clearing 1.71m (5'7.25m).
  • She set a pair of heptathlon school records winning the shot put with a toss of 12.55m (41'2.25) and the 200m with a time of 25.29 seconds.
  • The redshirt sophomore had four top-three program marks in the heptathlon in the event Friday afternoon.
  • Freshman Jessica Watkins sits in second place behind Gray with 2867 points.
  • Her best performance was a second place finish in the 200m in 25.44 seconds which is the third-fastest time in heptathlon program history.
  • Senior Shakedra Robinson is in fourth place with 2800 points.
  • Robinson was second in the high jump after clearing 1.68m (5'6).
Day two of the meet is scheduled for Saturday, March 25 at the Ole Miss Track and Field Complex in Oxford, Mississippi. The decathlon is scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start, while the heptathlon will began at 10:45 a.m.
