ASUN MEN'S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Led by senior
Simon Pritchard, who was named first-team All-ASUN and the Scholar Athlete of the Year, six Kennesaw State men's tennis players were honored on the 2017 ASUN All-Conference teams.

The announcements were made Thursday night at the conference's championship banquet in Fort Myers, Fla. The third-seeded Owls open play in the ASUN tournament Friday at 5 p.m. versus Lipscomb.

Pritchard is a first-team All-ASUN selection for the fourth consecutive season, including his second straight year as a unanimous first-team pick by the conference's head coaches. It is also the third straight year the Newport, Wales native has garnered the league's top academic award as Scholar Athlete of the Year.

In addition, Pritchard and doubles teammate
Lucas de Torres Curth were recognized as the No. 1 All-ASUN doubles team, sophomore
Fermin Calvo Barcelo was tabbed to the Second Team, while Pritchard, seniors
Jake Bouchillon,
Sam Slade, and
Drew Wendel were named All-Academic.
"These are well-deserved honors for these guys," said Director of Tennis
Eduardo Rincon. "We've had a great season, and they've each played an important part. I can't be more happy for Simon, to be recognized four straight years on the First Team and three times as the Scholar Athlete of the Year. He's been a model for our program, both on and off the court, and we will miss him, and our other five seniors greatly next season. This is a special team, but they know we still have work to do, and goals to achieve. I'm looking forward to starting the ASUN Tournament tomorrow night."

**Four-year starter at No. 1 for the Owls
**Has been a first-team All-ASUN selection in each of his four years
**Three-time winner of the ASUN Scholar Athlete of the Year
**Will graduate as the school's all-time leader in both singles wins (62) and doubles wins (60)
** This season is 13-10 in singles (10-7 in dual matches) and has teamed with Lucas de Torres Curth for an 11-2 record at No. 1 doubles (5-1 vs. ASUN teams)
**He and de Torres Curth defeated UNF's doubles team of Jack Findel-Hawkins and Jeffta Kecic, who were previously undefeated and ranked 78th, as the Owls won the doubles point vs. UNF
**Is a two-time ASUN Player of the Week
**Economics major with a 3.97 cumulative GPA
Fermin Calvo Barcelo | Sophomore | Mar del Plata, Argentina
Second Team All-ASUN
**Set the program record for singles wins in a season with his 20-11 record, including a 5-1 mark against ASUN opponents
**Is a two-time ASUN Player of the Week
**Has provided the clinching singles point in seven of the Owls' 13 dual-match victories this season
**His 13 singles wins in the dual season, and five conference singles wins, are each second-most in the ASUN
**Has won nine of his last 10 singles matches entering the ASUN Tournament
**Owns a 12-8 record in doubles action, including a 5-1 mark in the dual season at No. 3 with partner Sam Slade.
Lucas de Torres Curth | Sophomore | San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina
No. 1 Doubles All-ASUN
**Has teamed with Simon Pritchard at No. 1 doubles for an 11-2 record this season, including a 5-1 mark against ASUN opponents
**The 11 wins are the most by any No. 1 doubles team in the ASUN
**He and Pritchard defeated UNF's doubles team of Jack Findel-Hawkins and Jeffta Kecic, who were previously undefeated and ranked 78th, as the Owls won the doubles point vs. UNF
**Has provided seven more singles victories for the Owls.
Jake Bouchillon | Senior | Cumming, Ga.
Academic All-ASUN
**Posted eight singles wins this season, to go along with an 8-5 record in doubles
**In his career, ranks in the Owls' all-time top 10 in singles wins, doubles wins, and doubles winning percentage
**A 2014 ITA Scholar Athlete and 2015 ASUN All-Academic selection.
**Finance major with a 3.94 cumulative GPA

Sam Slade | Senior | Alpharetta, Ga.
Academic All-ASUN
**Has provided the Owls with 11 singles victories this season, including important conference victories at No. 3 against FGCU and NJIT
**Has been strong in doubles action with a 10-6 record
**Over his two-year career since transferring to KSU, he ranks sixth all-time at Kennesaw State with 26 singles wins, while his both his singles and doubles winning percentages rank in the Owls' career top 10
**Was named Second Team All-ASUN last season
**Management major with a 3.80 cumulative GPA.

Drew Wendel | Senior | Lawrenceville, Ga.
Academic All-ASUN
**Will graduate in the program's top five in career singles wins, doubles wins, and winning percentage
**Is 14-8 in singles action this season, and has provided 12 more wins on the doubles court
**Last season, he was an impressive 11-5 in singles, including a 9-1 mark at No. 6
**He was a 2015 Academic All-ASUN selection
**Finance major with a 3.79 cumulative GPA
