Kennesaw State wraps-up the month of April in Nashville this weekend for a pivotal three-game ASUN series at Dugan Field. The Owls take on 6-6 Lipscomb, ending their four-game road trip before finals week. The conference series begins Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN3, before a 2 p.m. dance on Saturday and 1 p.m. series finale Sunday. The last two games will be shown on Lipscomb's Facebook Live account.

ON DECK

  1. Kennesaw State enters the weekend with a 7-5 mark in ASUN action, coming off a 1-2 mark over ASUN-leading Jacksonville at Stillwell Stadium. The Owls currently sit fourth in the standings and Lipscomb is right behind with a 6-6 mark.
  2. The Owls are hitting .303 (125-for-413) with 18 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 61 RBI in 12 conference games.
  3. The Black and Gold are out-scoring opponents 63-50 and out-hitting teams 125-100 in conference play. Kennesaw State is 14-9 overall when scoring first and 16-7 when out-hitting teams in a ballgame.
  4. Taylor Allum's streak of reaching base safely snapped Tuesday, ending with 34 straight games and ultimately falling three games shy of KSU's D-I record of 36 set by Max Pentecost in 2014. Allum is, however, riding 12 straight games of reaching base in conference action.
  5. Freshman Garrett Hodges has found his stroke in conference play, batting .375 (9-for-24) in eight games. He is riding a 7-game hitting streak in ASUN action and has reached base safely in all eight games.
  6. Grant Williams is leading KSU with a .377 batting average in league play, totaling a team-high 20 hits and 11 runs. The junior second baseman has totaled eight multi-hit games.
  7. Senior OF Chris Erwin ranks fourth on the team batting .348 in ASUN play, totaling 16 hits, a team-best four doubles and 12 runs batted in. Erwin has four multi-hit games and a team-leading four multi-RBI games in 12 conference tilts.
  8. Head Coach Mike Sansing is the reigning ASUN Coach of the Year, winning his first honors since Kennesaw State joined the ASUN in 2006. He is the second-youngest coach on the 1,000-win list, and is one of 13 active coaches with 1,000 victories who have coaches at least 10 seasons of D-I baseball.
  9. The skipper won his 950th game Thursday (March 16) at Western Carolina, taking a 12-3 non-conference tilt at Hennon Stadium. The win also snapped a three-game losing skid in Cullowhee, N.C. Sansing now sits 40 wins away from winning his 1,000th career game in the Black and Gold uniform.
