CoSIDA ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS

KENNESAW, Ga. --
Kennesaw State University placed a pair of senior men's tennis players – Simon Pritchard and Jake Bouchillon -- on the 2017 Men's Academic All-District IV Team selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Pritchard and Bouchillon now advance to the national ballot for the 2017 Academic All-America At-Large Team. The men's at-large team spans nominees from the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo, volleyball and wrestling. District IV includes all the Division-I schools in the states of Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama.

Kennesaw State and the University of Alabama were the only schools in District IV with multiple selections to the list of 11 men's honorees. The other selections came from South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Miami, Florida State and Georgia State.

"These are well-deserved honors for Simon and Jake," said Director of Tennis Eduardo Rincon. "These guys have been incredible representatives of our program both on and off the court, and it's great to see their hard work be recognized with this award. They both were a huge part of our success this season, and I can't thank them enough for their contributions to our program."

It marks the first time KSU men's tennis has been recognized on a CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his current institution.

A native of Newport, Wales, Pritchard graduated from KSU this past week with a 3.97 GPA in economics. He is a four-time first-team All-ASUN selection, a three-time ASUN Scholar Athlete of the Year and the 2016 ASUN Male Student-Athlete of the Year. The four-year captain leaves The Nest as the program's all-time leader in both singles wins and doubles wins.

Bouchillon, a local standout from Lambert High School in Cumming, graduates from KSU ranked in the Owls' all-time top 10 in singles wins, doubles wins, and doubles winning percentage. He owns a 3.94 GPA in finance, and played a key role for KSU this season in battling back from back surgery that nearly ended his career in 2015. He has twice been named to the ASUN All-Academic Team (2015 and 2017).

The men's tennis team finished the season with a 13-8 record, setting program records for most wins in a season (13), best ASUN Conference record (3-2) and best ASUN finish (third place).
