KENNESAW, Ga. – The seedings and times for the 2017 ASUN Softball Championship are set following Sunday's conclusion of the regular season.
 
The tournament opens on Wednesday (May 10) and concludes with the championship game on Saturday (May 13) at Draper Diamond on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. All games will air live on ESPN3.
 
USC Upstate (41-11, 14-4), which captured the regular season and earned the tournament's top seed, and Kennesaw State (35-16, 11-6), which finished second and will be the No. 2 seed, earned first-round byes and will begin play on Thursday (May 11).
 
The Owls will play the winner of Wednesday's contest between No. 3 seed North Florida (30-25, 9-9) and No. 6 seed Jacksonville (30-23, 8-10) Thursday at 11 a.m. (ET). USC Upstate will face the winner of Wednesday's second game between No. 4 Florida Gulf Coast (26-28, 8-9) and No. 5 Lipscomb (35-18, 8-10) Thursday at 1:30 p.m. (ET).
 
Kennesaw State, which closed its season with a series sweep at Lipscomb April 29-30, earned its highest tournament seed since it was the No. 2 seed in 2012.
 
The Owls enter the championship as one of three teams with winning streaks of three or more games. USC Upstate closed its season with five straight wins, while Jacksonville swept Stetson over the weekend.
 
A win in its opener will advance Kennesaw State to the semifinals on Friday at 1:30 p.m., while a loss will put the Owls in an elimination game Thursday at 5:30 p.m. (ET).
 
The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. (ET) on Saturday (May 13), with an if-necessary game to follow. The champion earns the ASUN Conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship that opens with regional play May 19-21.
 
Kennesaw State, which won two NCAA Division II national championship titles, is seeking its first NCAA Division I Championship appearance.

All-tournament passes are priced at $25, while adult tickets are $10, and youth tickets are $5, with children under five admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Lipscomb website.
