WTRK: Gray Finishes Fifth in Heptathlon at 2017 IAAF Capital Cup

-- Kennesaw State track and field's Jordan Gray finished fifth in the heptathlon at the 2017 IAAF Capital Cup at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility.

Gray finished the two-day meet scoring 5582 points.

She began day two of the heptathlon with a leap of 5.87m (19'3.25) in the long jump which was good for fourth place in the event.

The sophomore tossed the javelin a personal-best 40.49m (132'10) to finish sixth in the event. That javelin throw of 40.49m (132'10) was 0.52m (1'8) better than her previous career-best throw of 39.97m (131'2) at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in June.
 
In the final event of the heptathlon, she ran a time of 2:27.35 good for 10th overall in the 800m.

Senior Joshua Mulder had to pull out of the decathlon after the eighth event and did not finish.
