KENNESAW, Ga.
-- The Kennesaw State cross country teams returned to campus on Thursday, August 10 and began preparing for the upcoming 2017 season.

"There has been a strong commitment from members of both teams," head coach David Poteet said. "Their attitudes have been great."

The women's team returns three runners from last year's squad including senior Saidah Grant , junior Caitlyn Farrell and sophomore  Bonnie McKinnon. They will be joined by freshmen Morgan Haney, Katie Meyer and Reagan Poteet who will help strengthen the team.

The men's team returns three athletes from last year's roster. Senior Jordan Hand, sophomore Will Hasse, and redshirt-sophomore Logan Poteet, who redshirted last season after transferring from North Florida, will lead a very talented group that includes three freshmen in Chase Kennedy, Colton Page and Ben Patterson.

"Some worked more than others over the summer, but overall, everyone is deeply focused on improving, and we will do just that," Poteet said. "I am enjoying the teams and their desires to improve each day."

The Owls open the season on Friday, September 1 at the JSU Struts XC Season Opener in Oxford, Alabama.
