KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's lacrosse assistant coach
Erika Eipp was drafted in the WPLL's inaugural draft by the Upstate Pride.
"I am grateful and honored to have been drafted by the Upstate Pride and to have the opportunity to continue my lacrosse career," Eipp said. "It's been a dream of mine to play at the highest level and I'm so excited to play with some of the best players in the world. This league has the opportunity to grow the game of lacrosse across the nation and inspire young lacrosse players. I can't wait to be a part of it."
The WPLL consists of five teams: Baltimore Brave, New England Command, New York Fight, Philadelphia Fire and Upstate Pride.
An All-American attacker at UMass, Eipp finished her career second on UMass' career points (229) and assists (114) lists. She led the Minutewomen to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a quarterfinal appearance in 2016 that was part of a 20-2 season.
Eipp was a second team IWLCA All-American as a senior in 2016. She was selected IWLCA All-Region and the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, and was a first team All-Atlantic 10 pick along with earning ECAC All-Star status. She led UMass in scoring with 97 points (second-most in school history) on 42 goals and 55 assists (setting the Atlantic 10 record) while starting all 22 games. That was her second straight season leading the team in scoring.
The first season for the WPLL will kick off in summer 2018.
