WBB: Street Tabbed ASUN Freshman of the Week

Owls' Rookie Earns Fourth Freshman of the Week Honor

KENNESAW, Ga. – The exceptional season-long play of Kennesaw State guard Kamiyah Street continues to be recognized as she was named the ASUN Conference Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday (Jan. 16). It marks her fourth, and second straight, Freshman of the Week accolade to go along with a Player of the Week honor.
 
Street continued her excellent rookie campaign this past weekend with two strong showings at North Florida and Jacksonville. The Owls' freshman guard averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.5 assists while averaging 38.5 minutes a game. 
 
The Atlanta resident opened the weekend with 26 points, a career-high seven assists, three rebounds and three steals at North Florida. She followed that effort with 15 points, five rebounds and five steals at Jacksonville.
 
Through three ASUN conference games, Street ranks third in the conference with 19.0 points a game, and tops the league with 4.7 steals a contest. Overall, the Owls' freshman is averaging 16.4 points a game to rank third in the ASUN and leads all freshmen. She is also averaging a conference-best 2.9 steals a game.
 
Kennesaw State is back in action on Saturday (Jan. 20) when it hosts defending ASUN Conference tournament champion Florida Gulf Coast at the KSU Convocation Center. Tip-off is 2 p.m. It will be Youth Day and Kennesaw Business Association Day.
