KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's basketball team will welcome between 800 and 1,000 local elementary school children to the KSU Convocation Center for its game against NJIT on Thursday as it participates in Education Day, a nationwide initiative adopted by women's basketball programs.
 
The game begins at 11 a.m. with doors opening at 9:30 a.m.
 
Education Day is a mix between the excitement of ASUN Conference women's basketball and engaging educational programs involving both age appropriate work books and on-screen videos. It exposes students to collegiate women's basketball while providing them with educational experiences and learning the benefit of staying in school.
 
All participating students, staff, and chaperones will receive FREE admission.
 
What to Expect

• The Kennesaw State University Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education will host activities from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• For those not bringing their lunch, the KSU concession stand will be open
• Appearances by Sturgis, Kennesaw State's live owl mascot, Scrappy, KSU cheerleaders and The Hoo (KSU Basketball Band)
• Guest Speaker at Halftime: Luther Jones (Member of Kennesaw State football team) 
• Walk-up schools/classes will NOT be admitted
