TRK: Owls Complete Competition at Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational

FINAL RESULTS

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's track teams completed competition at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational inside the Liberty Indoor Track Complex on Saturday (Feb.2).
 
Notable Performances
  • Alex Andrews posted a personal-best time of 7.65 to finish third in the 60m.
  • Jocselyn Powell ran a career-best time of 56.57 in the 400m.
  • Caitlyn Farrell capped off a solid weekend finishing 12th in the mile with a time of 5:17.13.
  • De'Von Johnson took second in the long jump with a leap of 5.75m (18'10.75) and fourth in the triple jump after a mark of 12.14m (39'10).
  • Freshman Omar Diaz finished sixth in the 60m final with Owls.
  • Jordan Hewing collected a time of 22.14 in the 200m to finish seventh.
  • Chase Kennedy took home eighth in the mile in a season-best time of 4:18.49.
  • Dayo Akindele took second in the 60m hurdles final with a personal-best time of 7.95. He would also grab second in the long jump leaping 7.26m (23'10) and third in the triple jump with a mark of 14.61m (47'11.25). 
  • Chuck McConville led the way for KSU in the shot put with a toss of 15.72m (51'7) to finish sixth.

The Owls combined eventers will be competing in the heptathlon and pentathlon in the Queens University Combined Events in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Monday and Tuesday Feb.2-3.
