Kennesaw State Drops Series Finale to North Florida

Box Score

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kennesaw State baseball fell in the series finale to UNF by a score of 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium. With the loss, the Owls (26-18, 14-7 ASUN Conference) conclude the regular season series with a 4-2 record against the Ospreys (18-26, 8-13 ASUN).

Brayden Eidson (3-2) made his fifth start on the mound and tossed 2.2 innings. Eidson surrendered six hits and five runs, while only three were earned.

The Ospreys scored two runs in the first, one in the second and two in the third to jump out to an early lead. The game then went into a lightning delay that lasted one hour and sixteen minutes.

Luke Torbert came on in the third and went four strong innings. The right-hander allowed one run on two hits while striking out three. The appearance was Tobert's 15th on the year which sets a new career-high for the senior.

Offensively, KSU was held scoreless for only the second time this season in a nine-inning game. The team was limited to two hits, which ties a season-low that was set on Friday night. Cash Young and Zac Corbin each added one hit, while Tyler Simon and Donovan Cash each contributed a walk.

UNF scored one run in both the seventh and eighth to push the score to 7-0 where it would hold as the final.

KSU is back in action on Tuesday, May 3 for a midweek contest at the University of Georgia. Earlier in the year, UGA defeated the Owls, 17-15, in a game that saw 29 combined hits and surpassed four hours of action. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Athens.
