The hard-throwing McCoy was one of the most feared pitchers in 2013, making 14 appearances and throwing 20.1 innings, striking out 23 batters... Allowed just 19 hits and had a batting average against of just .250 while earning a 1-0 record with one save... During a win at Georgia Southern (4/19), went three innings while not allowing a hit and striking out five, earning McCoy the victory... In the A-Sun Tournament, picked up the save against Lipscomb (5/25) in an elimination game, putting in three innings of work while allowing just one hit and striking out three...
2012 Summer League (Berkeley Lake Tides/ Sunbelt)
One of two KSU teammates on the Tides… Appeared in five games, throwing 20 innings… Struck out 27 batters while only allowing 15 hits... Earned an ERA of 2.25, which was lowest on the team for pitching over one inning… Invited to represent the Sunbelt League in their league-wide all-star game.
