Oct. 8, 2011, the Lady Owls traveled to St. Francis Table (affiliated with the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church) to work with the homeless citizens of Atlanta.

KSU's women's basketball team worked with over 430 homeless persons that day, serving food and drinks.  One player, Briona Jones, was so moved by one of the persons in need that she gave the shoes off of her own feet to help the woman in her time of crisis

Kennesaw State University student-athletes volunteered Sept. 17th for the Scattering Resources Carnival to support Devereux Georgia Treatment Network. Members of the KSU baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, spirit cheer, and dance teams facilitated the carnival activities in support of these charitable organizations.

The carnival was part of the Scattering Resources T-shirt and Sock Drive to benefit the Devereux Georgia Treatment Network. According to Associate Athletic Director Karen Pfeifer, the network specializes in the treatment of children, teenagers and young adults with severe emotional and psychological challenges by offering services that allow these individuals to learn the skills necessary to become productive members in their community. “Over 750 items were donated during the carnival to support the young people treated through Devereux” said Pfeifer.

KENNESAW, Ga. - While many college students are spending their weekends partying or hanging out with friends, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team spent Saturday, Sept. 26, helping out those less fortunate by volunteering their time at MUST Ministries in Marietta, Ga.

"With the recent flooding in Cobb County, there's been a great need to help," said KSU women's basketball assistant coach James Black, who helped to organize the day.  "I'm thrilled that all of the ladies on the team participated in this event."

According to Coach Black, the Lady Owls did a great deal of work at the MUST Ministries Donation Center.  The team spent the day sorting food, clothing, blankets, toiletry items, and other apparel.  "People have donated bags of clothes that have to be properly sorted," Coach Black said.  "Some of our ladies did that type of work, while others were organizing canned foods that had been donated."
