Why do we have to use a lottery?Kennesaw State University is one of the largest Universities in Georgia. Due to the size of the student population, and the fact our stadium size is quite intimate, it was necessary to create the most fair and accessible method to distribute student tickets. The lottery system provides that method.
Who developed the lottery?
An ad hoc committee was charged and created in late Spring 2013, comprised of nearly 10 current KSU students via the President’s Cabinet. Each member represented a group with a vested interest in how student tickets would be distributed for the football season. Organizations represented included: SGA, IFC, HPHC, Student Life, Black and Gold, etc. The group gathered monthly from May 2013 – November 2013 considering many variables that would make the most fair distribution method. At the conclusion of the committee, there was a survey that was made available to the both the Marietta and Kennesaw campuses to ask for input from the student population. The lottery was the overwhelming consensus.

Do I have to register for each game or just one time for the entire season?
Each game has its own independent lottery. You will need to register for each game you would like to attend. It will not affect you whether or not you have attended a previous game that season.
I received a ticket via the lottery, do I have to pick up my ticket before the game?Yes. You will need to come by the Convocation Center during the designated times to pick up your ticket for the upcoming game by Thursday 4pm. Should you not, your ticket will be made available for those in the stand-by line on game day.
I did not receive a ticket via the lottery, but I want to go to the game. What now? There will be a stand-by line on gameday at the Southeast gate (student gate) for students who did not receive a ticket via the lottery. Should there be tickets left unclaimed from the lottery winners, they will be made available on a first-come basis on game day. If there are students holding tickets who have not entered the game by 10 minutes prior to kickoff, their ticket may be deactivated and distributed to those in the stand-by line.
Why do I have to be in the stadium before kickoff when I have a ticket? There is an incredible amount of interest by Kennesaw State students in attending a football game. In order to have the best student environment in the country, we need a full student section – filled by those who want to be there. With more students attending Kennesaw State than seats available, this provides another way to ensure the most amount of students have access to the game as possible.
I lost my ticket, can I get another one?Tickets are to be treated as cash. Student tickets cannot be reprinted.
Can I get a guest ticket for a game? With the size of the student population of Kennesaw State, we want to ensure that as many current Kennesaw State students can attend as possible. Therefore only Kennesaw State students can get tickets for the student section.
I missed the deadline to register for the lottery on Owl Life, how can I register? You must register during the lottery window via Owl Life. Should you miss the registration period, please register for another game.
How do I sit with my friends?Student tickets are general admission. Go to the game at the same time and be the 12
th man! (But we cannot block off seats for your group – sorry)
I am at the Marietta campus, why do I have to go to the Kennesaw campus to pick up my tickets? As both campuses unify, we cannot determine who is at the Marietta campus or Kennesaw campus. Therefore it makes it very difficult to ensure that those who have requested tickets receive tickets – especially if distribution is separated. In an effort to ensure those who won tickets in the lotter receive ticket, the distribution will be at the Athletics Ticket Office located in the Convocation Center on the Kennesaw campus.
Why can’t I pick up my student ticket outside of the designated hours? There is an 18-hour window available to claim your student ticket. It takes place over a three day period and in a time window where the majority of students are on campus. Tickets unclaimed after Thursday’s pick up window will be deferred to the stand-by line.
Wouldn’t it be easier to email the tickets to the students? We thought about that. However, it’s been shown that students are more likely to attend the game if they have to physically claim a ticket.Â
