Carrie Metz named SJGT Player of the Year

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women’s golf signee Carrie Metz was named the 2009 Southeastern Junior Golf Tour Player of the Year in statement released by the organization.
"Carrie winning the SJGT Player of the Year for 2009 is a great accomplishment,” said Kennesaw State head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. “She has been steady all year long as she is very deserving of this award. We are very excited to make her part of the Owl family next fall."
Metz, who signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Kennesaw State, was named the Player of the Year in the in the Female 15-19 Division. The Cartersville, Ga. native played in nine tournaments prior to the SJGT Tournament of Champions and posted seven tournament victories, posting a 73.17 stroke average.
Since August, she has earned victories at the 2009 SJGT Tournament of Champions on Dec. 6, the 2009 Callaway Junior Classic on Nov. 8, the 2009 Forest Hills Junior Classic on Sept. 7 and the 2009 Doublegate Junior Classic on Aug. 23.
