ATLANTA- Kennesaw State women’s golf has yet another reason to be excited about their incoming freshman class, as newcomer Lindsay Adams was named the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Girl’s Golfer of the Year on Monday.

Adams, who played her high school at Greater Atlanta Christian, capped off a decorated prep career in May with her second consecutive Georgia Class AA individual title after firing a 1-over par 73 at the East Course at Alpharetta Athletic Club. Her winning effort was also instrumental in leading her team to their second state title in her four years of play. Her prep resume also includes three individual and three team region titles.

“We are extremely proud of Lindsay, this is a great honor for her,” Owls head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said on Monday. “This achievements caps off a wonderful high school career for her and I am very excited to see her continue this success as an Owl.”

Brinsmead hopes that these new additions will help to improve upon the Owls success of 2009-2010, when they set a team record for scoring average and finished second in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, a program-best.
