MACON, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun Conference recognized Kennesaw State sophomore
Alexandra Apostu as this week's "Player of the Week" in a release today from the conference office. It is the second week in a row that KSU has had a player receive the honor.
Apostu led the Owls to two A-Sun victories over the weekend, including a program-first victory over East Tennessee State University. Apostu was a perfect 4-0 for the weekend, winning both of her singles matches in straight sets against USC Upstate and ETSU. She also paired with freshman
Virginie Stein to win both of her doubles matches at the No. 1 spot. The duo is a perfect 7-0 in the conference in doubles, and both players are also a perfect 7-0 in the No. 2 (Apostu) and No. 3 (Stein) spots in the singles lineup against conference competition.
"I am very proud of the work that Alex has done this year," indicated Owls Head Coach
Jeff Kutac. "She has been working hard every day to improve her game, and her work ethic stretches into the classroom, where she also excels."
Apostu and the rest of her teammates will return to the court on Friday when they face off with first place North Florida at home at Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta, Ga.
