A-SUN RELEASE

MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State sophomore Ines Lescudier (Marseille, France / Tulane) has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference’s Women’s Golfer of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Lescudier tied for 12th at the UCF Challenge that concluded Tuesday at the par-72, 3,674-yard RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla. The Owls’ sophomore recorded rounds of 69-75-74 for a 2-over par total 218. Her opening-round 69 and 54-hole total established season-bests and helped Kennesaw State to a tie for 13th in the 18-team field.

"I played really good golf during the thre rounds. I worked a lot on my putting the last few weeks, and it went very well on the greens," Lescudier said. "Also, my long game was not the best I've ever played but it was consistent and I didn't make a lot of mistakes. I am very happy with this result, it's one of the best since I've been in the United States, and i'm looking forward to this spring season".

Lescudier is the second Owls player this season to be named A-Sun Golfer of the Week, joining fellow sophomore Kaew Preamchuen (Chachoengsao, Thailand / Datdaruni School), who earned the honor on Sept. 19.

Kennesaw State has two weeks off before it travels to Orange Park, Fla., to compete in the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitation that opens March 8 at the Eagle Landing Golf Club.

Kennesaw State is celebrating 30 years of intercollegiate athletics during the 2012-13 academic year.
