HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Kennesaw State women’s tennis team earned its second-straight Atlantic Sun Conference victory as the Owls blanked Northern Kentucky, 7-0, in the first-ever meeting between the two programs on Saturday, March 30 at the Yeager Tennis Complex.
KSU improves to 7-9 on the season and 2-3 in the A-Sun, while NKU drops to 0-12 and 0-5 in the conference.

Blaire LaSure combined for an 8-1 win over Jamie Diaz and Kristina Abramovich on court three, followed by an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles from sophomores

Tamara Plocher against Holly Robinson and Claire Spradlin.
Sophomore
Jana Hueckinghaus and junior
Alexandra Apostu closed out the doubles action with their fourth-straight win at No. 1 doubles, defeating Marta Romeo and Shana Kleynen, 8-3, to remain undefeated at 4-0 on the season.
In singles action, Kennesaw State posted straight-set victories on all six courts as Castro started the Owls off with a 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Diaz at No. 6 singles. Plocher then registered a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Abramovich on court five, followed by a 6-1, 6-0 win from Apostu over Kleynen on court three.
Lagerkvist then tallied a 6-2, 6-1 win against Robinson at No. 4 singles, before Hueckinghaus notched a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Romeo on court two. Stein earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles against Spradlin to round out the Owls.
Kennesaw State continues its road trip with a 10 a.m. (ET) match at Mercer on Saturday, April 6.
