KENNESAW, Ga. – Sophomore
Ines Lescudier (Marseille, France / Tulane) has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for the week of Mar. 27 – Apr. 2 following a career performance earlier this week at the Challenge at Onion Creek, the conference office announced on Wednesday. It marks the second time this season that Lescudier has been honored.
Lescudier shot rounds of 72-73-67 for a 2-over par 212 to finish two shots behind Han Wu of Gonzaga and Texas State’s Krista Puisite, who tied for individual medalist honors with even-par scores of 210. The Owls sophomore established a career-low 54-hole total and her final-round 67 on the par-70, 5,821-yard Onion Creek Original Course established a personal-best 18-hole score.
"I'm very proud of Ines and this award is well deserved,” head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. “She has really been working hard to achieve her goals this spring, to again shoot 3 under in the final round is testament to her mental strength and desire to win."
Lescudier currently leads Kennesaw State with a 74.6 stroke average and has posted three Top 20 finishes on the season.
The Owls return to action on Monday (April 8) when they open play in the Marsh Landing Invitational hosted by Jacksonville at the Marsh Landing Golf Club.
Kennesaw State is celebrating 30 years of intercollegiate athletics during the 2012-13 academic year.
