A-SUN RELEASE
KENNESAW, Ga. – Junior
Ines Lescudier (Marseille, France / Tulane University) has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday (Sept. 25).
Lescudier, the reigning A-Sun Conference Player of the Year and the first Owls player to finish a tournament under par this season, tied for sixth place with a 1-under par 215 at 16-team Lady Paladin Invitational that concluded Sunday at the par-72, 6,266-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
Lescudier, who helped Kennesaw State to a ninth-place showing, finished six strokes behind Clemson's Ashlan Ramsey who captured individual medalist honors with a 7-under par 209. The KSU junior carded rounds of 74-73-68, and her final-round score tied for the lowest of the day
Lescudier's third round was highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par-3, 164-yard 14th hole in which she used a four hybrid to record her first career ace. It also marked the first hole-in-one in a competitive round by a Kennesaw State player during the six-year tenure of head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead.
The Player of the Week honor marks the third in the last two years for Lescudier, who currently leads the Owls with a 73.33 stroke average in two events this season.
