WT: Kennesaw State's Virginie Stein Named to A-Sun Conference All-Academic Team

Stein Honored for Second Consecutive Year

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State junior women's tennis player Virginie Stein has been named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic team, it was announced on Tuesday (Apr. 15).
 
Stein was one of eight individuals named to the all-academic team that recognizes student-athletes with at least a 3.30 grade-point average or better and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's competitions. It marks the second consecutive year she has been honored.
 
A native of Gevelsberg, Germany, Stein has been a standout in the classroom and on the court. She registered a 5-3 record in A-Sun Conference play and 8-0 mark while partnering with senior Alexandra Apostu at No. 1 doubles.
 
In the classroom, Stein carries a 4.0 GPA while majoring in biochemistry.
 
East Tennessee State had a conference-high four players named to academic all-conference team, while Florida Gulf Coast had two individuals honored. Jessica Brumit was named the scholar-athlete of the year after accumulating a 3.98 GPA while majoring exercise science.
