MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State junior Kaew Preamchuen and freshman Dulcie Sverdloff were recognized for outstanding seasons as they were named the Atlantic Sun Conference's Women's Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively, the conference announced on Wednesday (Apr. 23).

Preamchuen joins Ines Lescudier (2013) as the second Owls' player to be honored with the A-Sun Conference's top award, while Sverdloff becomes the first Kennesaw State player to receive Freshman of the Year accolades.

A native of Chachoengsao, Thailand, Preamchuen was a unanimous first team selection, while Lescudier and Sverdloff were named to the second team. Sverdloff was also selected to the All-Freshman team, becoming the seventh KSU player so honored.

Preamchuen led Kennesaw State with a single-season school-record 73.77 stroke average, posted seven top 20 finishes, including four top 10s. Her top finish was a third-place showing at the A-Sun Conference Championships. She also improved her career scoring average to 73.78 to rank first on Kennesaw State's career scoring average list.

"I am really excited for Kaew to be recognized as the A-Sun Conference Player of the Year," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "She has really had an exceptional year, setting a KSU scoring average record and shooting an under par round in seven of 10 events.

"We are hopeful Kaew will receive an NCAA individual bid as it would be a great way to cap off her year," Brinsmead added. "I am very happy to coach back-to-back A-Sun Conference Players of the Year and am proud of what they have accomplished and the way they have represented Kennesaw State."

Sverdloff recorded a 75.20 stroke average that set a Kennesaw State freshman record and ranks fifth all time. She had three top 20 finishes, including one top 10, with her best showing coming at the Amelia Island Collegiate where she placed third.

"Dulcie does all the right things at practice and has such a passion for golf that it is contagious," Brinsmead said. "She is a pleasure to coach and really deserved this honor. Dulcie's best golf is ahead of her and I know she will continue to be a major contributor to this program."

Lescudier posted a 74.53 scoring average that ranks third all time. She had five top 20 finishes, including three top 10s. Two highlights of Lescudier's season came at the Lady Paladin Invitational where she recorded a hole-in-one and at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational where she finished first to become the first KSU player to capture multiple individual medalist honors.

In her two and half seasons at Kennesaw State, Lescudier has recorded a 74.83 stroke average that ranks second all time.

"To have Kaew, Dulcie and Ines named to the all-conference team is testament to the depth of this team," Brinsmead said. "We had a very successful year and, although we came up short of winning the conference championship, I still consider this year one of our best."

Individual bids to the NCAA Championships will be announced on Monday, April 28, and broadcast live during Golf Channel's Golf Central show that airs at 6 p.m. (ET). The announcement will also be available on the Golf Channel's website at www.golfchannel.com.
