KENNESAW, Ga. – The accolades continued to roll in for the Kennesaw State women's golf team as five student-athletes were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Scholars Team, the WGCA announced Wednesday, July 2.
Rising seniors
Ines Lescudier,
Mette Pedersen and
Hayley Clinning, along with rising sophomores
Dulcie Sverdloff and
Laura Estefenn each earned the prestigious honor for the Owls.
"I am incredibly proud of my players that earned Academic All-American honors," said head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead. "This is a huge achievement, particularly considering the travel we completed this spring with eight events. I love the accountability each of these student-athletes took on in regards to their academics and athletic achievement. We set a high bar and every one of them met this goal. It is such an honor to serve as their coach and they continue to make me proud with honors such as this."
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with student-athletes having to earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 to be eligible for the award. A total of 664 women's collegiate golfers from Division I, II and III were recognized with the accolade.
