ATHENS, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis teams begins action in the main draw of the ITA Southeast Regional Friday at the University of Georgia.
 
Senior Alexandra Mercado is the Owls' entry in the singles draw, and the senior will team with junior Jessica Cantrell in doubles action. There are 64 entries in singles, while 32 doubles teams will compete this weekend for the ITA Southeast Regional titles.
 
In qualifying rounds that began on Thursday, Kennesaw State had three singles entries in action and a doubles team in action at UGA's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
 
The tournament field features student-athletes from 17 different schools located in the state of Georgia and Florida.  Regional winners will advance to the Oracle/ITA Fall National Championships next month in Indian Wells, California.
