KENNESAW, Ga. – A successful start to the 2017-18 season that included a win, a runner-up finish, and two other top-four finishes in four events vaulted the Kennesaw State women's golf team to its highest ranking in program history. KSU received a No. 34 national ranking in this week's Golfstat Poll that was released by on Wednesday (Nov.1).

"At the start of the fall, we met as a team and discussed process versus outcome goals," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "The process goal was to focus on daily improvement and effective practice habits. The outcome goal was a team scoring average of 295 or less thus leading to a record- breaking ranking. I'm so proud to say we stuck to the goals and earned the highest ranking in school history at No.34.

"In golf, you cannot control what other teams shoot, only your own behavior and approach," Brinsmead stated. "The outcome will take care of itself. We focused on our attitudes, preparation and execution. I am so proud of the team for sticking to the process.

"We have had individual success from all players in the lineup.  This is truly a team effort. This ranking and results will motivate us through the offseason break. I've said all fall the momentum and attitude we've had was contagious. This team is a pleasure to coach, and we cannot wait to tackle the spring season."
