ASUN Release
KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State women's golf sophomore
Medy Thavong earned her second career ASUN Conference Women's Golfer of the Week after finishing tied for fifth at the JU Amelia Island Collegiate earlier this week; the league announced on Thursday (Feb.23).
"I love seeing hard work and determination rewarded, and again Medy has been recognized for her play," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Her third round at Amelia Island was instrumental in our team success. I'm so proud of her continued maturity and dedication to golf, academics, and KSU!"
Thavong led the Owls to a fourth-place finish in the Jacksonville University-hosted event, as she posted her career-low round, 66 in Tuesday's final round.
The Prachinburi, Thailand native opened the two-day tournament with a two-over par 74 before following it up with rounds of four-over par 76 and six-under-par 66 to finish with a total of even par 216.
Her 66 joined her with former Owls Ines Lescudier and current assistant coach
Ket Preamchuen for the lowest round on a par-72 course in program history.
Kennesaw State returns to action at the 3M Augusta Invitational at Forrest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia March, 17-19.
