Jacksonville, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's track and field team won its sixth consecutive ASUN Conference Outdoor team championship on Saturday, May 12 at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. This win is the program's ninth ASUN Outdoor title.
Team Scoring
The men scored 277 points in the two-day meet beating second-place by Lipscomb by 149 points.
Williams Named ASUN Most Valuable Performer
Paris Williams was named Most Valuable Performer of the meet after collecting 36 points for the Owls in the two-day meet. Williams won the gold medal in the decathlon on Saturday. He took home second in the 110m hurdles and third in the long jump, high jump and javelin. Williams is the sixth Owl to win this award since 2009.
Combined Events
Men's Decathlon (Final Five Events)
•
Paris Williams won the decathlon with 7012 points.
• Williams won all five decathlon events on the last day of the meet.
• He is the first athlete in ASUN history to win all 10 events in the decathlon.
• The sophomore set an ASUN decathlon and school decathlon record with a toss of 42.86m (140'7) in the discus throw.

David Lott finished second in the decathlon scoring 5603 points.
• Freshman
Kyle Martin took home the bronze medal scoring 5514 points.
Medal Winners (Non-Combined Events)
Field Events
• The Owls swept the podium in the triple jump.
Qwazon Al-Khaliq won gold with a leap of 14.85m (48'8.75). Karl Joeaar was second after jumping 14.55m (47'09.00).
Tariq Bradford secured the bronze medal with a mark of 14.46m (47'5.25).

Drew Anderson won the discus with a toss of 49.67m (162'11). He was joined on the medal stand by
Chuck McConville who secured the silver medal with a throw of 44.42m (145'09).

David Lott and
Paris Williams had throws of 51.95m (170'05) and 50.47m (165'07) to finish second and third in the javelin.
• Williams collected the bronze medal in the high jump with a leap of 1.87m (6'1.5).
Track Events

Chandler Nichols,
Omar Diaz,
Jordan Hewing and Cam Bolden earned gold medals in the 4x100m relay in a ASUN Conference record time of 40.14 seconds.
• Bolden won the gold medal in both 100m (10.37 seconds) and the 200m (20.97 seconds).
• Joining Bolden on the medal stand was
Jordan Hewing who was second in the 100m with a time of 10.42 seconds and in the 200m in 21.14 seconds.

Paris Williams won a silver medal in the 110m hurdles in a time of 13.97 seconds.
• Brandon Canamare took home a bronze medal in the 400m in a time of 48.48 seconds.

"Our student-athletes always bring their A-game at the championships. I'm just glad we had enough firepower to defend our title. I am incredibly pleased with the effort of our teams this weekend. They turned out some outstanding performances and never let up regardless of how tired they were."
Next Up
Athletes that are in the top 48 in the East Region in an event will get the opportunity to compete in the preliminary rounds of the NCAA Championships. The preliminary rounds are May 24-26 at the University of South Florida for the NCAA East Region.
